Our cars are rented on strict terms, and we would rather you knew them now than at the counter. There are four: you must be 25 or over, your licence must have a certain seniority, you need two cards in your own name — credit or debit — and you must be the person driving. If all four apply, booking is simply a matter of choosing a car and dates. For people carriers and vans a single card is enough, used for both the rental and the deposit.
You must be 25 or over on the day of collection. This is not an indicative age range: it is checked against your identity document when the car is handed over.
Licence seniority is not the same across the fleet. It ranges from five to seven years depending on the vehicle, because a nine-seat van and a 600-horsepower estate are not the same proposition. Each car's page shows, next to the price and the deposit, the seniority that particular model requires; that is the figure that counts.
The licence must be a category B licence and valid. The cars you can book today ask for a minimum age of 25, although a vehicle returning to the catalogue may ask for 30; in that case its page will say so.
You need two separate cards in the name of the person renting, credit or debit: one for the rental amount and one for the deposit. Two is not an administrative whim: the deposit takes up available balance or credit for the whole rental, and with a single card the payment and the hold compete for the same money. Exception: for people carriers and vans a single card is enough, and it covers both the rental and the deposit. For people carriers and vans a single card is enough, used for both the rental and the deposit.
They may be credit or debit cards. Prepaid cards, virtual wallets and cards belonging to someone else are not accepted, even if that person is travelling in the car. We do not take cash, bank transfers or cryptocurrency either.
The invoice can be issued to your company. What cannot change is who signs the contract and who drives.
The person who signs the contract is the only one allowed to drive the car. We do not add a second driver to a booking and we do not offer a chauffeur service.
Your companions can travel in the car with no formalities at all. What they cannot do is take the wheel: doing so breaches the contract and leaves the vehicle without insurance cover, with the financial consequences that entails in the event of an accident.
The amount of the deposit depends on the car and is shown on its page before you book, next to the daily price.
For rentals of seven days or less the deposit is blocked on the card and not charged: your bank holds the funds and releases them after the car is returned. For rentals of more than seven days it is charged, because a bank authorisation expires before the rental ends, and it is returned in full once the drop-off is closed.
Before the deposit is released or returned we check the condition of the vehicle, the fuel, the mileage and any outstanding traffic fines. Fines are passed on at their exact amount, with no handling fee on our side.
We work from a single collection and drop-off point, at Príncipe Pío in Madrid, open from 10:00 to 20:00. We do not bring the car to your home or hotel, and we have no desk at Barajas airport.
Nor do we offer a chauffeur service. We are a rental house: you do the driving.
No. The person who signs the contract must meet the requirements and is also the only authorised driver. If your friend meets the age, the licence seniority the car requires and brings two cards of their own, they can rent the car and take you along as a passenger.
Yes. Both credit and debit cards are accepted, always in the main driver's name. It is worth knowing how it works: on rentals of seven days or less the deposit is a hold, so the amount stays frozen on the card for the length of the rental and is released afterwards; on longer rentals it is charged and refunded when the car comes back. Prepaid and third-party cards are still not accepted. For people carriers and vans the deposit is held on the same card as the rental, so one card is enough.
It depends on the car you choose: the fleet requires between five and seven years. There is no single figure for the whole house, so the number that applies is the one on the vehicle's page, shown before you book.
Both cards must be in the name of the person who signs the contract and drives, so a corporate card issued to the company does not work for the rental or for the deposit. The invoice is a different matter: it is issued with VAT to you or to your company, as you prefer.
We cannot hand over the vehicle. It is a condition of the contract and of the insurance, and it is not something we can waive at the counter; the rental is cancelled under the terms set out in the contract. That is why it is worth reading this page, and the car's own page, before booking.
